To the Ginkgo Biloba
By Wang Yongli
After the vicissitudes of one thousand years around,
But you have no signs of aging,
Your branches are vigorously soaring,
Your trunk is still straight and shinning above ground.
Your youth span is so long in virility,
Your life is of thriving vitality.
Experiencing the storms, fogs, snows and lightning,
You stand on the high hill like a tower,
As if a living fossil displays the life’s brilliant chapter,
Haze and rainbow accompany you in existing,
You hold an ancient oath,
Stick to the thousand years’ faith.
You not only bring to human being,
The cool, the refresh and the green shade,
Your leaves like the butterflies in shape,
Are rustling, as if flying and singing,
In the autumn wind like bright flowers in celebrating,
Cover the sky and ground with golden cute color,
You also present the fruitnuts of the plumper,
Which are rich in nutrition and in tasting,
Sweet into the people’s heart in delighting!
Since you love the land,
You keep your love for everlasting,
Even if one day you are falling,
You will become the humus-rich soil and tiny sand,
Giving birth to a new hope.
Ode to Winter-sweet
By Wang Yongli
There is a garden on the outskirts of Guangzhou, known as the "Rose Hill Scented Snow" laudatory name, as one of the eight scenes of Guangzhou city. When the prune plums bloom, I had the privilege to watch, and had the feelings in aspiration.
Although here does not have
The cold wind in biting,
And dust in diffusing;
Although here does not have,
Snow grapples in swirling,
And hundreds meters’ cliff with icing;
After all, flowers become fewer in the winter,
Only a few in sighting,
And most of flowers in withering;
After all, the leaves begin to fall,
In the wind dancing,
Flying and descending.
And you, the winter sweets
Bloom like the volcano in erupting;
As if white Butterflies fly all over the hill,
Each branch is luxury in decorating,
Each tree looks like fogs hanging.
As if the thick frost dyed the trees into white,
As if precious jade are over all the ridging,
As if rimes on every tree are shinning;
As if the waves beat the embankment into crack,
A thousand snow-like foams forming,
As if millions clusters of flakes are remaining.
You also suffered the disasters,
Such as flood and drought in turning,
Suffer from the knife or axe’s cutting;
And you heal the wounds after,
In the old branches begin budding,
Even if the land is barren,
Your roots deeply put into the soiling;
When other flowers fade,
You all over the mountain are blooming,
The winter in south of the Five Ridges
Due to you, full of beauty of spring,
And the vigor of life’s thriving.
Well, Rose Hill Scented Snow,
Each flower as thin as cicada's wing
Make the peak of Rose Hill in intoxicating
Under the sunset splendidly shining,
The scene is picturesque in the evening;
You set all south beauty in here,
Proud but not in poor tasting,
Spotless in pure white presenting,
Even in the old branches,
Your incense scent is penetrating,
The lives of beauty in gracing!
Dew
By Wang Yongli
I am dew, pure and crystal clear,
Together like ten thousands of tear,
Hold up the heavy belief,
Send the land with relief.
I present the sweet to grass,
Awaken the sleeping leaves in mass,
Recovery, recovery, recovery;
So the lives becomes roaring
A riot colour of flowers in full blooming,
Prairie grasses are green and forest with fog
The birds aresucking our milk
Then sings the song of spring
Cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo
Soon then in the sunlight we are evaporating.
But tomorrow we will gather again with rapture,
To present crystal pearls to the great nature.
