米拉·艾哈迈德（埃及）
我们开心，我们迷茫，
长城边的笑声，回响在金字塔旁
以为那颗星很近，
那星为了我们而闪光。
也有时那颗星你难以抵达
或者有人因为岁月而受伤
为什么你渴望的并不属于你，
为什么辜负了你自己的星光？
你一定明白什么才真是你的，
你永远不会失望。
青春看起来很长，然后，
你又觉得度过得未免匆忙。
请不要为渐渐的白发哭泣，
不要为别了青春悲凉，
说什么生活欺骗了谁谁，
生活一直等待着你拿出力量！
生活永远等待着你，
不要在时间面前低头，
白发里包含着你的经历和希望，
白发里有幻梦，信念，弘扬，
抬起你的头来吧，我的好友，
每根白发都含着一个故事，
等待着书写，翻译，阅读，

A Word to My Readers
Mira Ahmed (Egypt)
We laugh, we wander,
Laughter by the Great Wall
echoes to the side of the pyramids.
We thought that star was close,
that it shimmered only for us.
And sometimes that star feels out of reach,
sometimes someone is wounded by the years.
Why is what you long for not always yours?
Why do you betray your own starlight?
You know, deep down, what truly belongs to you,
and you will never be disappointed.
Youth seems endless at first
then suddenly, it feels it passed too fast.
Do not weep for hair turning white,
do not mourn the farewell to youth.
Do not say that life deceived anyone
life has always waited for you
to summon your strength.
Life is always waiting for you.
Do not bow your head before time.
Within white hair dwell your experiences and hopes;
within white hair live dreams, faith, and perseverance.
Lift your head, my friend.
Every white strand holds a story,
waiting to be written, translated, read.
and so the Arabic edition of *The Wind of Laughter* shines.
